Liability for the journey
TaxiAhora is a platform that connects customers and taxi drivers. This page explains who is responsible for what.
The driver provides the journey
Every journey is provided by the licence holder or authorised driver in their own name, with their own vehicle and insurance, under the taxi rules that apply to them. The driver is responsible for:
- Carrying out the journey, the driving and the safety of the passengers.
- Complying with the taxi rules (licence, fares, meter, accessibility).
- Collecting the fare and giving the receipt.
- Damage during the journey covered by their compulsory insurance.
- The accuracy of the information and documents given at sign-up, which they confirm by self-declaration.
What TaxiAhora does
- Puts the customer in touch with a free taxi and provides the journey information.
- Runs automatic checks at sign-up and suspends accounts in the cases set out in the terms of use.
- Is responsible, with due care, for the proper running of the platform and the protection of the data it processes.
As far as the law allows, TaxiAhora is not liable for how the driver carries out the journey or for incidents during it, because TaxiAhora is not a party to the contract of carriage. This does not limit liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence or death and personal injury, nor your rights as a consumer.
If there is a problem
- With the journey (behaviour, route, payment, lost property): contact the driver, whose name and registration you see in the app, or complain to the National Transport Authority (Transport for Ireland, taxi section). Let us know too through the contact page.
- With the platform (account, data, how it works): write to info@taxiahora.com.
- In an emergency call 112.
